Organized in 1990, the Zuhrah Steel Drum Band has become one of the Shrine’s most popular and most requested units. We have performed all over the Midwest and also performed in Canada. The Band has won many awards and we are most proud to have won the President’s Trophy as the best parade unit in the Midwest.Our drums are handmade from regular 55 gallon oil barrels by Trinidad craftsmen. Our Caribbean dress and music delights the crowds wherever we perform. Musical talent is not a requirement for a person to join the band - we can train most people to play a few songs in about one hour!
If you would rather not play a drum, we can use you as a driver, quartermaster, or in several other capacities. After many of our parades, we have get-togethers with our families with food and refreshments.
